The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!

I hope you stick with me and follow this journey of mine through the crazy journey of a single female who wishes to become a mama.

A little bit about me… all the nuts and bolts without the bs!

I’m a late 30s something female living in New Zealand.  I’m incredibly accident prone.  I love to shop.  I have zero dance rhythm, I love chocolate and my belly jiggle shows it, I love being an aunty and a god mummy but I desperately want to be a mama. I have a knack for dating douches (no point being too pc about this) and after too many failed relationships I’ve decided that being a single mother by choice is the right path for me to take.

For the past 18 months I’ve been battling several injuries post 4 years of Ironman triathlon training.   Because of this and a lack of discipline in the kitchen since giving up racing I’ve gained way too much weight (and every one of my joints is feeling it) and over the next 12 months have a massive goal of reducing this by 30kg’s so I’m at optimum weight to go through fertility treatment.  I am very proud of my mental strength and ability to cross that IM finish line successfully three times from three attempts in three different countries around the world, but my IM days are now behind me as I look ahead to new challenges and new experiences.

Having suffered from depression in the past my wellbeing and the wellbeing of others is one of my big passions.  Other passions include fitness, baking, making things, and learning.

Life is a crazy journey and my life so far has been one heck of a ride with more road blocks and judder bars to count.. but it is those tough times and challenges that have created the best version of me so far.

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
